General Dentistry

A six-monthly check-up with the dentist or dental hygienist is very important at any age. During check-up, the dentist looks at more than just the teeth. Sometimes it is necessary to take pictures to better determine the dental situation.

Pediatric Dentistry

Periodontology = serious gum problems.

When the gums are slightly inflamed, it is called 'gingivitis'. If nothing is done about this, this inflammation will spread to the edge of the gums and/or jawbone. If this happens, there is a serious risk.

Cosmetic Dentistry

When is implantology a good solution?

• When replacing a single tooth or molar.

A crown can then be placed on the implant.

• When replacing multiple teeth and/or molars. A bridge is then usually made, but the implant can also serve as support for a removable construction such as a frame prosthesis.

Dental Check-ups

A six-monthly check-up with the dentist is very important at any age. During the check-up, the dentist looks at more than just your teeth. Sometimes it is necessary to take X-rays to better determine the dental situation. Based on the findings during the check-up, the dentist can make a treatment plan and/or determines whether a follow-up appointment is necessary. The dentist can also give you different advice about the frequency of your check-ups.

Dental cleanings

Dental cleaning, also known as professional teeth cleaning, is a preventive dental treatment that helps keep your teeth and gums healthy. During a cleaning appointment, a dental hygienist, preventive assistant or dentist carefully removes plaque, tartar (hardened plaque), and surface stains from your teeth—especially in areas that are hard to reach with a toothbrush or floss, with the intention of preventing cavities (dental caries), gingivitis, and periodontal disease. Our dental team are experts in thoroughly cleaning your teeth and gums and provide advice on how you can best keep your mouth healthy yourself. We are happy to give brushing instructions and personal tips on using the correct interdental sticks or brushes. In addition, we look together at your nutrition and lifestyle.

Root canal treatment

A root canal treatment is another term for a nerve treatment. Severe toothache is often the reason for it. The living part of the tooth (the “pulp”) can become so inflamed that the nerve must be removed to stop the pain. This also helps prevent further infections.

Composite fillings

Old dental fillings are often made of (dark) gray metal (amalgam). This stands out from the rest of your teeth. We can replace your amalgam fillings with white fillings.

Composite fillings look natural because their color is matched to the surrounding teeth. We do not need to remove healthy tooth structure to give the filling material grip.

Pediatric Dentistry

When you take your child to the dentist at an early age, both you and your child enjoy many benefits:

  • Any potential problems are detected and treated early, helping you avoid more extensive treatments later. You want to prevent your child from having pain in their teeth, molars, or gums while talking, eating, or even constantly. Yet a cavity can develop very easily. And if, due to neglect, teeth have to be removed, your child may experience pain as well as problems with chewing. The premature loss of baby teeth or molars (for example, because they have to be extracted) can lead to space problems or misalignment of permanent adult teeth and molars.

  • You can request brushing instructions so you can properly care for your child’s baby teeth from the very first tooth.

  • Your child can get used to the dental chair, and the dentist, which helps prevent dental anxiety.

Teeth Whitening

Do you have discolored teeth?

This can have many causes. For example, coffee, tea, red wine, smoking, and the use of medication at a young age can all play a role. Some people naturally have more yellowish teeth. Our dentist can tell you whether your teeth are suitable for whitening.

Facings/veneers

With facings/veneers the dentist can change the appearance of your teeth in a simple but effective way. A facing/veneer is a thin layer of tooth-colored composite filling material or a porcelain shell. Chipped corners of teeth can also be made invisible with the help of a veneer.

Crowns & Bridges

A Dental Crown

When you have a weakened, damaged, discolored, or broken tooth, a crown can be a beautiful solution for you.

A crown is a permanent replacement for the visible part of a tooth. A porcelain crown has the color and shape of a natural tooth.

A Dental Bridge

When you are missing one or more teeth, a dental bridge can be a beautiful solution for you. A bridge consists of a fixed combination of three or more connected elements. The bridge spans the area where your teeth are missing and is attached on both sides to existing teeth. Because these adjacent teeth serve as supporting pillars for the bridge, an adjustment is needed in the form of two crowns. Just like crowns, a bridge is custom-made in the correct color and is a permanent replacement. This allows it to blend seamlessly with the rest of your teeth.

Dentures

We offer different types of Dentures:

  • Dentures - False teeth (Full or Partial)

In Implantology we focus on placing dental implants to replace natural teeth. Read more on this page about the benefits of dental implants.

When is implantology a good solution?

  • When replacing a single tooth or molar. A crown can then be placed on the implant.

  • When replacing multiple teeth. A bridge is then usually made on the implants

  • When replacing all teeth in a jaw. The construction can then consist of a fixed bridge or a removable prosthesis (click denture) that is anchored on the implants by means of, for example, push buttons or a rod construction.

Crowns and Bridges

A crown is a permanent replacement of the visible part of a tooth. The porcelain crown has the color and shape of a natural tooth. If you are missing a tooth or if both your tooth and tooth root are damaged, it is possible to first place an implant on which the crown can be attached.

If you are missing one or more teeth, a dental bridge is a great solution for you. A bridge consists of a fixed combination of three or more elements attached to each other. A bridge spans the part where your teeth are missing and attaches to existing teeth.

Root Canal Treatment

We offer Root Canal Treatment. Root canal treatment is another word for nerve treatment. Severe toothache is often the cause. The living part of the tooth (the 'pulpa') is then so inflamed that the nerve has to be removed to stop the pain. This prevents further inflammation. How much time is needed for a treatment differs per tooth. Treatment on a single-channel front tooth takes less time than on a four-channel molar. The average treatment time varies from half an hour to two hours.

Sealing of Teeth or Molars

Sealing or sealing grooves and pits in teeth. The dentist or dental hygienist usually seals with a plastic sealant, which can be transparent or yellow-white.

Why seal? Sealing is done to protect the molars against cavities (caries). It protects them in those places where they are most prone to cavities, namely in the grooves and pits. These are fragile, especially if they are deep and narrow. The bristles of the toothbrush can hardly clean the grooves. Sealing usually takes place shortly after the permanent molar has erupted completely.

Sport Mouth Guard

•The prefab

•The 'boil-and-bite'
